Pakistani Cleric Urges Muslim Scholars to Unite in Defense of Iran Against Israeli Aggression

The head of the Islamic Thought Center of Pakistan, Hojatoleslam Syed Aqeel Abbas, has called on Muslim scholars and seminary students to unite the Ummah in defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of Israeli aggression and a coordinated Western media war.

ABNA24 - The head of the Islamic Thought Center of Pakistan, Hojatoleslam Syed Aqeel Abbas, has called on Muslim scholars and seminary students to unite the Ummah in defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of Israeli aggression and a coordinated Western media war.

In a statement, the Pakistani cleric said that in the current global atmosphere—dominated by organized propaganda from American and Zionist media outlets—the responsibility of Islamic scholars and students of religious seminaries has significantly increased.

"Various types of misconceptions about the Islamic Republic of Iran are being spread, with the aim of distorting Iran's true image and creating distrust among the Muslim Ummah toward a powerful Islamic system," he said.

Syed Aqeel Abbas emphasized that scholars and students returning from seminaries can play a key role by speaking directly to communities, participating in public programs, and sharing their firsthand observations from the pulpit.

"The people of Pakistan have already declared their religious and spiritual support for the nation of Iran," he added.

The cleric pointed out that American and Zionist media outlets portray Iran as an aggressor and a source of instability, while in reality, Tehran has consistently preferred dialogue and diplomatic solutions.

"Iran has repeatedly responded positively to negotiation offers, yet it has been subjected to oppressive attacks—actions that are completely contrary to international law and humanitarian principles," he said.

He stressed that Iran’s stance is based on defending national sovereignty and dignity, not on aggression.

"Defense is a natural and legal right of any independent nation. When war was imposed on Iran, the country defended itself with wisdom and courage, inflicting heavy blows on the enemy and earning global recognition for its defensive capabilities and strong resolve," Syed Aqeel Abbas stated.

Addressing the presence of U.S. bases and forces in certain Arab and Islamic countries, the Pakistani scholar said that from Iran’s perspective, if these bases are used to attack Iran, targeting them falls within the framework of legitimate defense.

"Iran has always emphasized respect for the sovereignty of Islamic countries and avoiding harm to them," he added.

He further noted that despite international pressure, economic sanctions, and political isolation, Iran has demonstrated remarkable strength, endurance, and stability—proof of the system’s internal cohesion and popular support.

The cleric urged scholars and seminary students to take this responsibility more seriously than ever before, using the pen, the pulpit, and media as effective tools in the ongoing intellectual war.

"If the facts are presented correctly, not only can propaganda be countered, but the Muslim Ummah can also be united around a common position," he concluded.

Syed Aqeel Abbas prayed for the victory and honor of Iran and Islam, the destruction of the enemies of Islam, and greater strength, resilience, and dignity for the resistance front.
